Hamilton Khaki X-Wind Automatic Review

Hamilton Khaki X-Wind Automatic Watch Review

The Hamilton Khaki X-Wind mens watch is one of my favorites by Hamilton, especially in this dial color (ivory). This time I want to jump right to the automatic movement first. The X-Wind uses a Valjoux 7750, this is amazing considering a price point under $1,500 (that’s before any discounts!). For those of you that enjoy knowing what is under the hood will appreciate this value. I can think of one particular watch which uses a Valjoux 7750, it has been slightly modified and retails for around $6,800! Getting back on track the ivory colored dial adds a real sense of class to this very versatile watch. There is a nice contrast between the brown leather strap accented with white stitching against the dial. Some of the many features include small black indices on outer dial, brushed stainless steel turning ruler black with black numbers/indices, analog day and date at the 9 o'clock position, polished stainless steel crowns and pushers, display back, and sapphire crystal.

Pros - A lot of watch for money, nice size, display back, and versatile.

Considerations - This version is only offered on a leather strap.

Victorinox Dive Master 500 Mecha Review

Victorinox Dive Master 500 Watch

The Victorinox Dive Master 500 Mecha mens watch is stunning. The two things that grab my attention immediately is the gorgeous bezel and the watch is blacked out with PVD coating. This is in my opinion the best watch I’ve seen from Victorinox for a couple reasons that I will touch on in a moment. The 500 stands for 500m of water resistance and is an updated version of its predecessors. Most notably the movement is not quartz, the Dive Master Mecha is using an automatic ETA 2892-A2. The Dive Master has nice aggressive lines on the bezel, bold dial, swordfish hands, AR coated sapphire, and an updated date window featuring a luminescent marker. Sticking with the larger trend this Victorinox comes in at 43mm and is offered on a bracelet or rubber strap. Now for why I believe this is the best watch that has come out of Victorinox found below in “Pro’s”.

Pros - Current MSRP w/ steel bracelet is $1,095! That gives you 500m WR, an ETA 2892-A2 (upgraded version, work horse movement), Gunmetal PVD coated, AR coated sapphire crystal, see through case back, and a whole lot of lume! Not to mention one kick a$$ looking watch.

Considerations - Verdict in my opinion is still out on how well PVD holds up to the test of time.
