Graham Silverstone Stowe Review

Graham Silverstone Stowe Watch

The Graham Silverstone Stowe watch is impressive and limited to 500 pieces.  The watch is inspired from racing roots, named after a right-angled sharp turn in the Silverstone circuit. Try to keep up, here is what the watch is packing, GMT, big date, chronograph function, flyback function with reset pusher (4 o’clock), carbon fiber bezel, black carbon fiber dial, orange SuperLuminova numerals, large blue minute counter at 3 o’clock, and small seconds counter at 9 o’clock. This watch is powered by an automatic Caliber G 1721 built off of the work horse Valjoux 7750, with a 42 hour power reserve. How do you pack all this into one watch? With a 48mm case, go big or go home with Graham.

Pros - Nice pushers, good attention to details, solid movement, and GMT.

Considerations - Only offered on a strap, not an everyday watch.

Rolex Sea-Dweller DeepSea Review

Rolex Sea-Dweller DeepSea Watch

The Rolex Sea-Dweller DeepSea watch is nothing short of a sea monster! Rolex finally caved to the large watch trend and came out rocking a 43mm replacement to the Sea Dweller ref#4000. The Sea-Dweller DeepSea diver’s watch is equipped with a revolutionary Ringlock System, it is built to withstand the immense pressure exerted by water at an extreme depth of 3,900m (12,800 feet). Some of the new improvements come from the movement and the bracelet. The DeepSea uses Rolex’s work horse 3135 automatic movement with the new Paracrom hairspring. The bracelet is a feet of technology, the new Glidelock clasp system is amazing. There has been rumblings for years about their clasp and the Glidelock system puts that conversation to rest. The watch has a large presence at almost 18mm thick and domed sapphire crystal.

Pros - Improved movement, great clasp, will stand the test of time.

Considerations - Size, tapered bracelet

Case: Stainless Steel
Case Diameter: 43mm
Bezel: Unidirectional
Crystal: Sapphire
Dial: Black
Bracelet: SS
Lug Width: 21mm
Movement: Automatic
Water Resistant: 3,900m

Tag Heuer Formula F1 Review

Tag Heuer Formula One Watch

The Tag Heuer F1 watch has had more than a few new looks over the last couple years. This is the best design to date in our opinion. It is clean and uncluttered for a chronograph, the big seconds window at the six o’clock position looks much better than the previous versions. This F1 is 41mm, water resistant to 200m, and has a sapphire crystal. The bezel is coated with a scratch resistant titanium carbide, it is surprisingly hard to scratch. The bracelet on this watch is very comfortable and well built for this price point. It is also offered on a rubber strap which looks a bit awkward coming out of the lugs. The watch is powered by a Swiss quartz movement and this Tag can handle some abuse.

Pros - Functional, aesthetically well designed, nice size, rugged.

Considerations - Tough price point at 1K + for a standard quartz movement

Case: Stainless Steel
Case Diameter: 41mm
Bezel: Unidirectional
Crystal: Sapphire
Dial: Silver/Black/Orange
Bracelet: SS or Rubber
Lug Width: 20mm
Movement: Quartz
Water Resistant: 200m

Breitling SuperOcean Heritage Review

Breitling SuperOcean Heritage Watch
The Breitling SuperOcean Heritage watch is the 21st century remodel of the iconic Heritage SuperOcean Chronometer. This watch is a must see in person, pictures do not do it justice. Breitling being no stranger to large watches offers this in a 46mm and a 38mm. The watch is very clean and crisp visually and comes in three different color options, black, blue, and bronze. The bronze version is surprisingly nice and would be great for an individual with a deep watch collection. Bronze would be a tough color to pull off daily, others watches would help with this. The big date window at the 6 o’clock position is a nice change of pace. The SuperOcean Heritage utilizes the Breitling Caliber 17 automatic movement, based off of an ETA 2824-2. The watch is C.O.S.C. certified with a water resistance of 200m. The Heritage is offered generally on either the Ocean Racer rubber strap or mesh bracelet. Both are some of the best in the industry and the mesh is arguably the best available.

Pros - Crisp/Clean and easy to read, C.O.S.C. certified, great strap and bracelet options.

Considerations - For a dive watch the lume is lacking, especially no lume dot at the 12 o’clock position on the bezel.

Case: Stainless Steel
Case Diameter: 46mm
Bezel: Unidirectional
Crystal: Sapphire
Dial: Black
Bracelet: Mesh or Rubber
Movement: Automatic
Power Reserver: 40 hours
Water Resistant: 200m

Bell & Ross BR01 Airborne Review

Bell & Ross BR01 Airborne Watch
The Bell & Ross BR01 Airborne is typical B&R, cutting edge and original. The BR01 design has fueled the brands rise in popularity to the top. This variation is no different, distinctive, bold, and unmistakably B&R. The Airborne incorporates skull and cross bones on the face into the case of the watch. The skull was used as reference to the US Airborne’s motto of “Death from Above” and glows a vibrant green. Equipped with dagger/sword hands and PVD coated case. This watch is limited to 500 pieces and is sure to be hard to locate.

Pros - Very unique piece, sure to be a collector’s item.

Considerations - Could you handle the inevitable scratch/ding you would get wearing this in the wild?

Swiss Military CX 20,000 Feet Diver Review

Swiss Military CX 20,000 Feet Diver Watch

The Swiss Military CX watch is the BEAST of ALL BEASTS! A world record breaking 20,000 feet (7500m)! The record was held by the Rolex Deep Sea set in 2008. Not only is the CX an automatic, it also a chronograph making the record that much more impressive. It is C.O.S.C certified utilizing a Valjoux 7750, with a 48 power reserve. More interesting are the dimensions, is it even wearable day to day? It is a manageable 46mm, with the pusher and crown it will wear much larger. If that is not large enough, how about the fact it is 28.5mm thick, which includes 10mm thick sapphire crystal! The case is titanium to help with the over all weight and features a helium release valve. Owning this would definitely be a conversation piece. It is a limited edition to 1000 pieces and comes in a collectors box, along with a rubber strap and a changing tool. Here is a side profile to help give a better appreciation for the size. Amazing!

Pros - If you own this your the man!

Consideration - Do you have the wrist size to pull off the look?

Case: Titanium
Case Diameter: 46mm
Bezel: Unidirectional
Crystal: Sapphire
Dial: Couple Choices
Bracelet: Titanium
