Tag Heuer Carrera Day Date Review

Tag Heuer Carrera Day Date Watch Review

The Tag Carrera Chronograph Day Date Calbre 16 (CV2A10.FC6235) is one of the latest versions in the Carrera line up. This has some of the very distinctive features of past Carrera’s, but with some fantastic updates. The face has silver toned applied numeral markers, giving the dial some nice depth. As the name suggest this is a Day Date version and features a chronograph function. It is the small attention to detail that make the difference on this watch, red accent in the seconds subdial, red tipped chrono counter, and the red trimmed chronograph start button. The day/date window is bold, but not over powering, nice crisp lines. The bezel is black with the expected Carrera Tachymeter scale.
The Tag Heuer Carrera Day Date is powered by Tag’s Calibre 16 automatic movement, nicely visible through the display back case. The larger 43mm case is nice and makes for a less cluttered dial, the case is supported by a black crocodile leather strap. Still one our favorite watches, a true classic.

Pros - Nice movement, Day/Date, applied numerals, exhibition case back.

Consideration - The watch is 16.5mm thick.

Omega Aqua Terra Railmaster Review

Omega Aqua Terra Railmaster Watch Review

The Omega Aqua Terra Railmaster is based of the 1957 Railmaster, with some modern updates of course. The watch is offered in two different case sizes 39.2mm (2803.52.37) and 42.2 (2802.52.37). Always hard to decide between sizes, the larger dial on the 42.2mm ads more open clean space. This is a classic dress watch and Omega did a great job on designing the watch. One the great subtle designs on this watch is the lugs design. There is a high polished edge that tapers outward to the edge of the lugs, looks amazing. The dial is a matte black with very pronounced indices, further complimented by 12, 3, 6, and 9 o’clock numerals. The Railmaster does not have a date window, lending to the large and uncluttered dial. The case has polished and brushed finishes, done in a very classic styling. What’s under the hood? The watch is powered by a Co-Axial Caliber 2403 automatic movement, known for it’s accuracy. Overall, the Aqua Terra Railmaster is beautiful classy dress watch, featured on a brown leather strap.

Pros - Based off a classic, timeless design, fantastic movement
Considerations - No date

Oris BC3 Sportsman Review

Oris BC3 Sportsman Watch Review

The Oris BC3 Sportsman (ref. 735 7640 4164) is the latest version of the BC3. Many times updates do not go over well, but the Sportsman hits a home run! The Day/Date function are both now located together at the 6 o’clock position, the dial has a new minimalist approach compared to the old BC3. Sometimes simplicity is bliss. The watch is now 42mm and comes on either a bracelet, rubber strap, or leather strap. The BC3 Sportsman also comes on a different bracelet than the past version. It is much “tougher” in appearance and fits the a lot better aesthetically. The watch is powered by a Swiss automatic movement and has 100m of water resistance.

Pros - New design for 2010, simplicity

Consideration - Would you become bored with the simplicity?
