Chopard’s race inspired Mille Miglia Gran Turismo (GT) XL Power Reserve

(ref.168457-3001) is a seriously sporty watch. There is no shortage of unique race details through out the watch’s design. The power reserve indicator at the 6 o’clock position symbolizes a race cars fuel tank indicator, with an “F” and an “E” to let you know when you running low on power. The Chopard GT has a fixed internal bezel encompassing the all black dial, with nicely done date magnifier at the 3 o’clock position. The large “12” gives a great bold “pop” to the dial, also helping to visual balance the large power reserve indicator. Race inspired, this Chopard is supported by a black Dunlop tread designed strap. Adding a subtle unique touch to the watch, equipped with a deployant (not deployment) buckle.

There is an exhibition case back, displaying the ETA based Caliber A07.161 automatic movement, with a guilloche rotor. The Gran Turismo XL is C.O.S.C. and is sporting a 46 hour power reserve. Great watch, that has been well thought out.

Pros - Unique overall design, nice finish, exhibition case back.

Consideration - Water resistance.

What a gorgeous mens watch, the Chopard L.U.C. Pro One GMT will not disappoint. Paying homage to the founder, L.U.C. comes from the initials of Louis-Ulysse Chopard. Two immediate details that bide for your attention are the orange numerals against the black bezel and the sunburst guilloche pattern in the center of the face. This LUC Pro One GMT has nice large GMT pointer, accented with an orange triangle tip. The indices have a very cool and unique design, I especially like the 12 o’clock markers. The hour and minute hands are bold and strong, mirroring the indices nicely. Chopard is using it’s LUC 96H24 to power this beauty, a 31 jewel engine, C.O.S.C., with an incredible 65 hour power reserve. Pictures do not do the LUC Pro One GMT the justice it deserves, in person it is a pure knock out. The design, craftsmanship, attention to detail, refreshingly original design (not a me too watch), make this a winner in any book.

Pros - Beautiful original design, craftsmanship, 65 hour power reserve.

Consideration - Finding one to see in person prior to purchasing.
