Out of the gate this watch is a MONSTER, coming in with a tiny case at 51mm and overall thickness of 22mm! This is Oris’s largest mens watch in the collection currently and would be for most other companies as well. The ProDiver has the Oris RSS (Rotation Safety System), helium escape valve, and the watch is rated to 1000M. The current safety for setting the timer on most dive watch bezels is to rotate it counterclockwise. This way if it gets bumped, you only think you have less time and come to the surface sooner than expected. With the ProDiver you pull the ring up, turn it to the desired time then push the ring down. This locks it into place, eliminating the worry of unknown tank time.

Pros - Simply put, this is pure manliness!

Consideration - Size

Oris TT1 Titan Divers Date Watch Review

The Oris TT1 (Titan Titanium) Divers Date mens watch is a nice mid-range dive watch. Oris did something W&R would like to see more Swiss dive watches utilize, larger bracelet widths. The Oris Diver is 44mm with a 24mm bracelet and it looks fantastic. The 24mm bracelet aesthetically support the larger case better, an aspect some other brands tend to miss.

Some notable features are the date display at 6 o'clock, helium escape valve at 2 o’clock, SuperLuminova indices and hands, unidirectional bezel with lume dot, and a black face with wave pattern. It is brought to life by a Caliber 633 automatic movement, built off an ETA 2824-2. The watch has a titanium case and bracelet that will take you to the depths of 1000m. Oris has a nice reputation for being a “good value” amongst the Swiss movement watch makers, making it a watch to take into serious consideration.

Pros - Very good value, lug width, nice bracelet.

Consideration - Do to the lug design, it would be very difficult to switch the bracelet out for anything other than a OEM straps. This means one can not easily pick up a nice leather strap or mesh bracelet and slap it on.

Oris TT3 Chronograph Black Review

The Oris BC3 Sportsman (ref. 735 7640 4164) is the latest version of the BC3. Many times updates do not go over well, but the Sportsman hits a home run! The Day/Date function are both now located together at the 6 o’clock position. The dial has a new minimalist approach compared to the previous BC3. Sometimes simplicity is bliss and this watch has nice simple/clean lines. The watch is now 42mm and comes on either a bracelet, rubber strap, or leather strap. The BC3 Sportsman also comes on a different bracelet than the past version. It is much “tougher” in appearance compared to the past version and fits the overall appearance better aesthetically. The watch is powered by a Swiss ETA 2836-2 automatic movement and is water resistant to 100m.

Overall, the watch is good choice for someone looking for watch to tell time at a glance and not scream “hey look at me”. The BC3 would make a nice got to daily wearer.

Pros - New design for 2010, simplicity

Consideration - Would you become bored with the simplicity?

The Oris BC4 Small Seconds Pointer Day (ref. 645 7617 4164) is a modern take on a classic aviation watch. The BC in the name stands for “Big Crown”, a homage to when larger crowns made it easier to wind mechanical movements. The day pointer hand has a nice large red tip to easily locate the day on outer dial. There is small seconds as the name implies at the 9 o’clock position and a rotating date disc displayed at 3 o’clock. The black dial is textured enhancing the “pop” of the white numerals. The face is clean and easy to read through the domed sapphire crystal. The sapphire crystal has AR coating on the inside, much prefer this over double AR as it is prone to scratches. The engine that keeps this watch ticking is an Oris 645 movement, built off an ETA 2836-2. There is an exhibition case back for a nice view of the movement. The Oris BC4 Big Crown Pointer Day is finished of with a black aviation style leather strap.

Pros - Fresh aviation design, unique day display

Consideration - Larger numerals would be nice

Not the typical watch seen by Oris up until now. Stealth is a hot trend and Oris did it right. The TT3 Chronograph Black is not “blacked out” for sake of trying to fit in, it is blacked out because Oris nailed it on the lesser talked about TT3 series. This TT3 is a perfect watch if you are looking for a stealthy, versatile, with a nice fit/finish. Likely, you will be the only one you know who owns one and will have no shortage of compliments on this bad boy.

You can see hints of the TT1, the biggest difference being the TT3’s case shape. Besides shape, the case is made up of multi-piece titanium, done in PVD. The top outer ring has a tachymeter scale. Does anyone every use this feature on their watch? Moving on, the dial is no doubt the show stopper done in black carbon fiber. Like most watches, better appreciated in person. The TT3 Chronograph Black has 3 subdials, continues seconds, 30 minute, and a 12 hour counter. The continues seconds blends in with dial and is found at the 9 o’clock position. There is a date window tucked away inside the 6 o’clock subdial, keeping the watch face less busy. SuperLuminova BGW9 is used on the hands and indices. BGW9 lume glows in blue, a perfect choice by Oris for this watch. Powering the TT3 Chronograph is the Oris 674, based off of the trusted Valjoux 7750. The signature red rotor winds the watch to a 42 hour power reserve.

There is really not much to dislike like about the TT3, except the integrated strap. W&R much prefers watches you can change straps out on to something else. The integrated straps pretty much guarantees you will be enjoy this beauty on the Oris black rubber strap only. Other than this one point, the watch is a solid winner.

Pros - Carbon fiber dial, well executed design, nice proportions

Consideration - Integrated strap
